What is Generation Z and who is called Generation Z?
For years, we often come across the expression “Generation Z” in social media, websites, and news. So, what does the Z generation mean, and what years are those born in the Z generation, have you wondered about it? Today we will focus on this concept and talk about what generations mean.
The Generation Z
Generation Z or Generation Z. So, on what date was this Z generation born, in which years are those born the Z generation?
People born in the mid-1990s to the early 2010s are called Generation Z. Although it is not easy to make a statement in general, it is said that the members of this generation are those born in 1997.
A Generation Born With Technology, Knowing Technology
The emergence of the internet and smart devices has undoubtedly been the most important indicator of communication and media. The smartphones, tablets, and artificial intelligence-created devices we use in our homes today have coincided with the millennium generation. Therefore, it would not be wrong to use the expression that the Z generation was born in the middle of technology and uses this technology perfectly! This millennial generation, who has such a command of technology, can easily access information and adapt to the globalizing world. They are largely similar to their peers abroad in terms of lifestyle. But their lifestyles are quite different… While some are introverted and refuse to socialize with other people; some of them can be social and like to travel with their extroverted peers.

Generally, young people in this age group try to prove themselves in this field and produce virtual content because they are closely related to technology. They actively use world-famous social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Some even make money from it. Generation Z sees the internet not as a tool, but as a way of life!
Hangi Yıllar Hangi Kuşaklara Denk Geliyor?
What does Generation Z stand for? What does the X and Y generation mean, and in what years were they born? We hear you say. These letters go in the form of x, y, and z.

Baby Boomer Generation
In other words, “Boomers”. This generation is known to have been born between 1946-1964. The reason why it is called a boomer is that it represents the generation born as a result of the increasing population explosions after World War II. The youngest members of this generation are in their late 50s. This generation, which generally cannot adapt to technology and the global world, is more fond of their old habits. Most of them settled their work and life, so to speak, they sifted the sieve and spread the flour. Their grandchildren are considered Generation Y.
Generation X
The youngest member of Generation X, which covers the generation born between 1965 and 1980, is 41 years old today. The birth of technology and the social media we actively use today coincided with the end of his youth. It can be said that they are a little more “conventional” than the Y and Z generations. They are fond of family ties, and adapting to the new normal can be difficult for them in many situations. Many have retired or have already started their own business today.
Generation Y (Millennials)
It is the generation born between 1981-1996. The youngest member is 25 years old today. It is a generation that can adapt to the global world and is generally described as a bridge. Millennials, also known as millennials, make up the majority of the world’s population. They generally entered business life and many of them started to start families. They are now of an age that can be considered mature and able to make relatively logical decisions. It does not seem to be completely dependent on traditions and a routine life like the X generation, nor does it seem to rebel against the social systems that are fond of their freedom like the Z generation. It would not be wrong to use the term “in-between” for this generation.
