Does the Video Show Cannibalism in Haiti?

Armed gangs demanding the resignation of Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry attacked two prisons near the capital region on March 2 and 3 and clashed with the security forces. The chaos created in the country by approximately 4 thousand prisoners who escaped during the conflicts caused an international crisis.

A 72-hour state of emergency was declared to catch criminals who escaped from prison, but this period was later extended. Many images continue to come from the region.

The video we are looking at today went viral with the claim that a person was cooked over a fire by cannibal gang members. We were investigate to the images shared by internet users.

Are Images of Cannibalism in Haiti Real?

First of all, we search on Google with keywords such as “Haiti” and “Cannibal”. However, apart from a few fake news, we cannot access any source containing these images. Then we take a screenshot of the video and the stunning results appear.

• We learn that the video was actually recorded at a Halloween party held at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom Theme Park in Zhuhai, China, in 2018.

When the video is examined in detail, it can be seen that the fire, coals and the surrounded person are fake. We do not know who spreads such a video with a disturbing ‘fabricated’ concept and for what purpose. However, the only thing we know is that there are hundreds of thousands – even millions – of people who believe this.
