Of course, not a day goes by that internet users do not share a new claim on their social media accounts. A Twitter account called “Explore Space” captioned the photo, “A view of the Antarctic continent from space.” downgraded. Of course, we had never come across an image of Antarctica from space before. This made us think that the content might be wrong and we said let’s have a look.

We threw the photo into Google Lens with a reverse image search and the results took us to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Here, it is informed that the image is a digital work created by combining many images. The photograph in question was prepared for the International Polar Year. The International Polar Year is a two-year period of activity where the country negotiates and takes decisions on many issues such as global warming, melting of glaciers, and climate problems. This image, although not real, gives an estimated view of the Antarctic continent from space.
